Each day we will meet and hear a variety of speakers, visit Mountain Top Removal sites, and have ample opportunity for dialogue with the residents themselves. Trip of Perspective: Haiti June 26 to July 3, 2019
Occured on: June 26, 2019We’ll meet grassroots urban & rural leaders building inspiring, liberating community-based responses to systemic challenges. We’ll learn about Haiti’s culture, history and policies in relation to the US. Relationship-building and daily reflection will anchor our time together. In Port-au-Prince, we’ll be with dedicated young people from economically marginalized communities starting micro-businesses, and wealthy business leaders. Through honest dialogue, we’ll learn about vastly different experiences of money, power, and access, the ways they are working to bridge the gaps, and how that connects to our lives. Heading north, we’ll be with leaders working in remote areas, empowering women with the life tools and long-term financial opportunities needed to help themselves and their communities break out of poverty.
