Updated, 10/14/19: Registration for this fall’s Money, Faith and You study groups is now closed. Because of the strong response, we’re running two groups this fall and are planning for new sessions to start in 2020. Join the waiting list here, and we’ll be in touch when the next groups are scheduled.
Is there more to life than working and buying? What does Christian faith say about managing our living, working, and spending in ways that support people and the planet?
Starting this October, Faith and Money Network’s Mike Little will launch a new online study group where participants can explore these questions. Together, we will:
- Explore our habits and history with money
- Read (and discuss with others) some of today’s leading thinkers on faith and money
- Consider how both our personal and national financial choices impact people and the environment
The group will meet Wednesdays, Oct. 16 through Nov. 20, from 12 pm E.T. to 1:30 p.m. E.T. via a Zoom video conference. Participants will need access to an Internet-connected desktop computer or laptop with video camera to enroll.
Because this is the first time we’re offering this course, we’re waiving the usual $100 registration fee. The class is free — but seats are limited (only 8 seats available!) and participants will be asked to complete an evaluation at the end of the series.
Each 90-minute session will include an assigned reading, a writing exercise, and discussion questions from the newly revised Connecting Faith and Money study guide, a 57-page PDF, which each participant will receive for free as part of the course.
Themes to be covered include:
Oct. 16: Biblical Foundations
Oct. 23: Money’s Role in Our Lives
Oct. 30: Scarcity or Abundance?
Nov. 6: Money, Power and Global Relationships
Nov. 13: Extraction vs. Neighborliness
Nov. 20: Sabbath Economics
Ready to register? Space is limited so apply today! We’re only accepting a limited number of participants for this inaugural run of the course. Complete this short application and we’ll respond within 24 hours.
UPDATE: The Fall 2019 group is full and registration is closed. To be contacted about new groups forming in 2020, add your name to the waiting list here.
